LAUNCHING SHINDER AND HELPING ONE MAN GET A DATE FOR VALENTINE’S DAY

Inventor and product designer Shed Simove wanted our help to raise his profile, links to his online portals and generate more users of his digital channels and products.

Always looking to subvert and disrupt modern culture, single (and looking) Shed was complaining about dating apps and their quantity-over-quality approach. So we worked with him to develop his solution:

Shinder (Shed’s Tinder), the dating app where there was only man available to date: him!

The launch was eight months in the making and carefully planned around Valentine’s day – with spectacular results: 160 pieces of earned media on Shinder, including 50 links to the site at an average domain authority of 49. The story was covered by BBC Radio 5 Live (twice), LADBible, Metro, Fox News, NBC News, The Verge and media outlets in Canada, Germany, Czech Republic, Australia & New Zealand.

The coverage led to an increase on all key business metrics for Shed:

• 187% increase in sales of his books, apps and other products in the month after the campaign

• 10,000 visits to Shinder.me within 48 hours of launch

• 26,000 visits in the first four days (with no other supporting marketing activity).

• The App was used 140,000 times in two weeks, matching Shed with over 500 women

….and of course he got a few dates at the end of it!
